Expressive Figures Project

The main goal of the expressive figures project was to work on the ability to illustrate a person and how their pose affected how the piece made the viewer feel. I sketched many different poses, and landed on the pose of a mountain biker mid air off the bike throwing up a peace sign. In order to accomplish the illustration of the figure I worked in Procreate on an iPad. I used the technique of digitally painting the figure out of acrylic. In order to make the rest of the piece (background and bike) I used Adobe Illustrator. I used an earth tone color scheme to emphasize the desert setting, and used a light blue and pink color scheme to highlight the rider and the bike. [2022]
